iProspa is a game and app that incentivizes people to learn about money by rewarding them with discounts on real products & services

The app is essentially a smart consumer app that aligns education with retailer & financial institution loyalty/rewards programmes

Challenge

Users attempt financial challenges in the app and, if successful, earn points which equate to discounts on the products or services.

Advise

Users get linked to financial advisors, business mentors and industry experts as they progress through the game and app

The Challenge

The South African economy is in bad shape and consumers are struggling to make ends meet. Over 50% of the workforce are unable to pay off their outstanding debt.

In excess of 12 million people have impaired credit records.

Only 6 – 8% of South Africans will be able to retire with adequate income to survive on.

Millennials spend more money on coffee than they do on retirement funding.

Market efficiency depends on financially literate consumers

On top of this, there is a significant lack of financial literacy in South Africa

The Solution

Learn, Earn & Grow With Our App

Step One

Download the iProspa app from either IOS, Android or the Web. Note, that the app may initially take the form of a web app.

Step Two

Be introduced and welcomed to the app.

Step Three

Sign up/register for the app. This can be done via Facebook, for example.

Step Four

Select a specific savings goal, for instance, a Samsung smartphone, from a mock product catalogue

Step Five

Respond to at least three financial education questions or challenges ( these challenges will be about food choice, transport options, accommodation options, clothing choices, quizzes, etc. These challenges may present themselves daily, weekly or monthly.

Step Six

Earn reward points for responding correctly to the financial challenges, which equate to discounts ( for instance, 2,5,10 or 20% ) off the specific saving goals such as the smartphone referred to in point 3 above.

Step Seven

Receive helpful savings or spending hints by having links to financial advisors, insurance providers, landlords,business mentors, etc

Step Eight

Track your progress on a Leaderboard which gets updated after each challenge.

Step Nine

Receive some form of code/barcode/coupon/voucher that will be used to redeem his discount from the relevant retailer/brands
